You can see six of the characters at work in our gameplay capture, including the new guy, an assassin called Grøh, who wields a double-ended sword that he can separate into two weapons. Old favorites Kilik, Xianghua, Mitsurugi and Sophitia are joined by Nightmare, who carries the infamous Soul Edge sword. Soulcalibur 6 takes place in the early years of this series, and so its returning characters glow with a flush of youth.

He is seen as a merciless being, one who is driven solely by his desire to restore the Soul Edge – the cursed weapon he has wielded throughout many battles in the series.
The post also claims that the game will introduce seven newcomers, including the previously-revealed new fighter Groh. Between new and returning fighters, Soulcalibur 6 is said to be launching with a roster of 30 playable characters once it launches later this year.

Soulcalibur 6 was released for PC in 2018. The free-to-play fighting game is strictly single-player and pitted players against computer-controlled combatants.

Zasalamel - who goes into battle with time-manipulation abilities and a massive scythe - does have an affiliation with time-travel, so perhaps he's been included as a way to reboot the story? We look forward to finding out more.
